Update on Bryant -We got home at 2:00 a.m. this morning. We went to Bryant's house for the surprise party. Bryant was with the boys while Charlee got the house ready saying she wasn't hungry just take the boys out to eat. The surprise was of course you know on us. Besides being Bryant's Over the Hill 40th Birthday it was also their wedding anniversary. Bryant was at the Outback restaurant with the boys when he got chest pains and went to the bathroom throwing up three different times and when the chest pains got bad he called Charlee and told her to call 911 and for her to come get the boys. Her Mom was there too so they both drove so Pat could bring the boys home and Charlee could drive to the hospital behind the ambulance. Bryant is on the 3rd floor in the Cardiac Unit. He has lots of blockages and veins that are busted open - This is real serious. One blockage they put a stint in was 100% blocked the other 80%. Only 2 has been done so far - the reason the rest weren't done are because first they wanted to stabilize him. Secondly, they don't know if his body will reject the stints. Thirdly, his condition! They want to wait until Monday to put more stints in. Or if his body rejects these stints they will have to do Open Heart Surgery which may happen at any time. He could still have another heart attack and die now. Charlee says they need to put a lot of them in.

Notes:
Faye is a short petite little thing. Her cousin Tommy West was a strapping young man in the military (Rangers). One day, when Tommy was there on leave, Faye climbed on a desk and karate chopped (she saw how to do it on TV) Tommy on the neck as he came around a corner of a room at the house on Crenshaw. Tommy went down like an ox. Oh yes, and Faye ran and hid.
Faye has raised Poms for years and used to show them.
Faye by Faye Howard:
WHO AM I?
I am now a 64 year old woman and my motto is "Live Well, Love Much and Laugh Often."
I worked for Department Of Corrections in General Services and assisted the Directors and their staff for almost 20 years before retiring. I want to share 3 things I felt extra proud to accomplish:
I organized the DOC mini-pool, assigned units vehicles, and designed the sign-out sheets etc. which are still used today. I changed out copiers, increased not only staff productivity but provided copiers with the newest technology from the time it was given me to do until I left. The first 3 years I save the state over $77,000 a year for the 1st three years and even more each year after that.
In my free time and at home, I designed and set-up the Distribution Accounting Voucher for computers and had it approved by the Department of Accounts for all DOC State Agencies. I also, made the Supply Room Order form on the computer. This started more forms that could be generated on the computer thus improving staff productivity and saving money for the state by removing typewriters and not having to use multi-part printed forms everybody hated.
I want to share with you some of the most important things that have happened to me. First, I had two sons, Bryant who is 43 and married to Charlee and Tim who is 41 is married to Alice. I have 5 grandchildren, Mathew, Nicholas, Andrew, Emma, and Cameron, and I have 7 step great-grandchildren. I love my family very much.
I always wanted to be an architect so I designed, drew the plans and helped build 3 of my homes that I lived in. The first was built in Cooper City, Florida; it was 3600 sq. ft. The second was built in Powhatan; it was 2072 sq, feet. The third was built in Chester; it was 2800 sq. ft. The teacher at J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College would bring his House Class to watch the construction of our house each week. A couple in the class offered us $30,000 more than what it cost us to build the house. Of course, I couldn't agree to sell it.
On February 14th, 2003 I married my 2nd husband, John Pleasants and I am so happy I did.
I raised and showed Pomeranians. I was 17 when I bought my first Pom and 18 in the show ring. My 3rd Pomeranian had 16 champions in one line and she was also, the great-great-great grandmother to the only Pomeranian that has won the Westminister Dog Show, his name was Great Elms Prince Charming II. This would not have happened without the help of the breeding of Maynard Wood and Ruth Beam and others. The last time I bred my Pom, 8 years ago, Furby sired the only 6 month old Pom, to my knowledge, that completed his championship in a 4 day show called the Virginia Beach Kennel Show in Virginia Beach. This would not have happened if Margaret had not let her female meet Furby. My kennel name is "Magic's Kennel" and my line spreads across the country. Our cousin, Robert "Bob" Goodrich was the one that supported me. He taught me what I needed to know about Pomeranians and was there for me anytime I needed him. We only have 4 Pomeranians now and they are April, Furby, Champion Lovebug, and Cuddles and we also, have 1 Cockatiel named Tweety.
I am an animal lover; I feed the birds of all kinds even humming birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, fox and any other critter that comes in my yard to eat. I love flowers, plants and all God's beauty around me.
Since my retirement John has kept me on the go. I am a member of the Virginia Alumni Association for the Blind in Staunton and I have been serving as the Hall of Fame Chairman for the last 5 years and was re-elected to start my 6th year, July 1st.
I have been a member of the Lions Club for 4 years. Our motto is "WE SERVE". The Lion Clubs serve in 206 countries, in regions battered by natural disasters, in hospitals, schools, health programs, senior citizen centers, eyeglass recycling centers and provide eye exams and hearing aids and help people with Diabetes. We serve our communities we live in and we protect our planet and we do so much more.
I have held the offices as Director - 4 years, Lion Tamer - 1 year, Secretary - 2 ½ years, and Zone Chairman 1 year. I will be 1st Vice President of Varina Lions Club and Zone Chairman in my District beginning July 1st .
I have received the following Awards:
The Proud Lion Award and Pin from the Lions of Virginia on 2/19/08. Only a few Lions have received this award.
The Council of Governors for the State of Virginia Award on 11/23/09. The nominated Lions, who are usually nominated by a Past District Governor or the serving Governor, are voted on by the Council of Governors. Each Governor in their District pre-sent them in their term of office when they visit the Club the nominated Lion is in. Five or us received this award for 2009-2010 in our District 24-B.
The International President's Letter of Commendation and his pin were presented to me by the International President Sid L. Scruggs III on August 28, 2010 at our Lions Fall Conference at the Luncheon Banquet. Usually only two are awarded each year to a District but this year four of us received them.
Now, my goal is to be installed at the Lions International Convention in Hawaii as District Governor in 2015. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This is the house that all of us cousins remember. They built a 2 story office addition on the back. We used to play a mean game of darts down in the finished basement also. HC Horne kept his comic book collection here. They used to have hams and bacon hanging in the storage part of the basement every year. The entire family used to get the hams and bacon from cousin Phillip Chappell. The basement had stairs that led to the kitchen and shadow (one mean Pekingese dog) wouldn't let Gene, Tommy or HC up those stairs anywhere near the kitchen. That dog guarded the refigerator with his life, of yes and we did tease him.
