John married SYKES Tabitha on 13 Dec 1794 in Southampton Co., VA.. Tabitha (daughter of SYKES Richard and SYKES Rittah --LNU--) and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 11.  SYKES Tabitha (daughter of SYKES Richard and SYKES Rittah --LNU--); and died.

    Notes:

    Hello Gene,
Tabitha Sykes is the daughter of Richard Sykes and Rittah. Rittah and Richard were also the parents of Elizabeth Sykes, who, contrary to current information, I feel was Beverly Booth's first wife. Rittah later became Mrs. Ritter Norris. Look at Elizabeth Sykes's date of birth in the Beverly Booth Bible, and then the date of death and age of Elizabeth, Beverly's wife. They exactly match. Also, the Bible states that Mrs. Ritter Norris was Beverly's mother-in-law when he noted her death. Tabitha's marriage to John Booth was noted to be witnessed by Ritter Norris.
I suspect Richard Sykes died, and Rittah remarried Ritter Norris. The second Richard Sykes (married to an Elizabeth) was probably his son, as was our John Sykes, who was married to Lucy Booth, Beverly's sister. This second Richard died in 1797 as noted in Beverly's Bible.
I am not sure, but I think that John Booth that married Tabitha was the son of Moses and Diana Booth.
    Hope this helps!
    Paul Sykes
