After she married Jack Wilkinson on New Year's Day 1940, they lived in Washington D. C. for a short time before moving back to Phoebus. She worked at Fort Monroe in the telephone section for 30 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1980. A former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, she was a member of St. Joseh Catholic Church.
