It appears he was married to sisters because Surry County Marriage Registry page #50 shows on Nov. 28, 1889 Elliott Johnson age 28 married Becca or maybe Bettie (writting was difficult to read) age 17 in Sussex County. Both were single. Both were born in Surry and resided in Surry. His parents were Randall and Minervia Johnson. Her parents were _____ and Bettie Stallings.

It is located at the junction of State Route 10 /State Route 32 and State Route 125 , just south of SR 10/32's crossing of Chuckatuck Creek . Its elevation is 36 feet above mean sea level . The neighborhood is relatively small and consists of such businesses as a garden store, general store, automobile repair shop, two churches, two gas stations, a restaurant, a hardware store, and others. "What I heard years ago where Grandfather Barham was buried. The farm of Ackie
Gwaltney, near Delk's Crossroads. Across the road from the home in a field
was a burying ground in that day.Long grown up."Postcard dated March 5, 1971.
His mother was Emile Jones Gwaltney which may explain he was buried on
Gwaltney property.
