Biography:
I was born August 8, 1942 and my parents were Samuel Linwood Howard and Mary Virginia Horne Howard. I had one sister Virginia Faye Howard.
I was married to David Swanson Short on October 10, 1964 and will celebrate our 42nd anniversary this year. We have two children. A daughter Mary Kimberly Short Johnson born November 21, 1968 (On her Aunt Faye's Birthday) and a son David Brandon Short born May 1, 1972 (On his dad's birthday).
Our daughter Kim married F. Reid Johnson June 19, 1993 and they have two children. Grant Parker Johnson, born August 6, 1997 and Paul Alexander Johnson born September 6, 2001.
Our son Brandon married Tammi Lynn Goulet' February 21, 2004. They have two children. David Connor Short, born July 11, 2004 and a daughter Cameron Lynn Short born February 28, 2006.
So we have three grandson and one grandaughter. The joys of our life.
We enjoy going to our grandsons baseball and soccer games and love to spend time with them. They are growing up too fast.
I retired from Henrico County Public Schools, but still work some for the school system.
I am Past Honored Queen of Bethel 52 and was in the Eastern Star for 15 years before demitting. I delivered Meals on Wheels before moving to Mechanicsville and am a Red Hatter.
I love to play bridge, bunko and most card and board games. I use to play tennis and bowled on several different leagues.
Hope this helps some.
Joanie

This is the house that all of us cousins remember. They built a 2 story office addition on the back. We used to play a mean game of darts down in the finished basement also. HC Horne kept his comic book collection here. They used to have hams and bacon hanging in the storage part of the basement every year. The entire family used to get the hams and bacon from cousin Phillip Chappell. The basement had stairs that led to the kitchen and shadow (one mean Pekingese dog) wouldn't let Gene, Tommy or HC up those stairs anywhere near the kitchen. That dog guarded the refigerator with his life, of yes and we did tease him.

Aunt Mary lived at Mrs. Agee's rooming house on Brook Road in Richmond after they moved up here from Waverly.
