    In the name of God, Amen. I William Brns ofthe Township of Amwell, C ounty of Hunterdon in the Western Division of the State of New Jersey, con sidering the uncertainty of this mortal life, andbeing of sound and perfe ct mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publi sh this my last will and testament in manner and form following, Th at is to say First, my will and order istht all my just debts and funer al charges be paid by my executors herin after named.
    Secondly, I will and order that my beloved wife, Hannah shall enjoy o ne third of the produce ofthe plantaation in the township of Amwell on whi ch I nowlive together with the use of all th household furniture of whi ch I may be possessed at the time of my death, during her natural li fe or widowhood.
    Item, my will farther is that my said beloved wife Hannah shall have t he use ofthe room in the east end ofthe house in which I now live during h er natural life or widowhood. Alsi, my will farther is that my beloved s on William shall supply my said beloved wife Hannah with sufficient firewo od together with two cows and four sheep, during her said natural li fe or widowhood.
    Item, I give and devide unto my beloved son John, my plantation in Knol ton Township in th County of Sussex on which he now lives to him his hei rs and assigns.
    Item, I give and devide unto my beloved son William my said plantti on in the township of Amwell aforesaid on I now live to him his heirs a nd assigns.
    Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah, wife of Jacob Snyd er the sum of thirty pounds warrent lawful money of New Jersey aforesa id to be paid unto her by my said two sons John and William at the dea th or marriage of my said beloved wife Hannah.
    Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Ruth wife of Am os Robins the like sum of thirty pounds money aforesaid to be paid unto h er by my said two sons John and William at the death or marriage of my sa id beloved wife Hannah.
    Item, I give and bequeath unto my two belovedgrandchildren so ns of my son Samuel the sum of five pounds money aforesaid to be paid to t hem share and share alike by my said son William as soon as they arri ve to the age of twenty one years.
    Item, I give and bequeath unto my said beloved son John all the smi th tools, farming utensils and stock that may happen to be on my said plan tation in the county of Sussex at the time of my death.
    Item, I give and bequeath unto my said beloved son William all the sm ith tools, farming utensils and stock (except what is already bequethed) t hat may happen to be on my said plantation in the township of Amwell afore said at the time of my death.
    Item, my will farther isthat all my household furniture shall be equa lly divided between my said beloved daughters Sarah and Ruth on the dea th or marriage of my said beloved wife Hannah. Lastly, I nominat, constit ute and appoint my said two beloved sons John Barns and William Barns Exec utors ofthis my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wil ls by me made.
    In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seven th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred a nd eighty four---1784.
