    Lenious was the last Confederate Veteran to die in Surry County.(per Phillip Chappell and family records). He farmed Phillip Chappell's farm. There are 6 or 7 Confederate soldiers of his buried in the family plot (not related). Joined Carsley Methodist Church 1 Oct 1890, Rev. L.M. Williams. He was buried on his farm, where he was also born. He gave the farm to Iola and Logan Emmett Chappell

He was involved in railroad construction, having had a part in the building of the Shippenburg, Chambersburg (N39° 56.231' W77° 39.672' ) lines in Pa, before coming to Virginia.
