    Died at age a few months before he would have turned 82. He was a postman for Route 3, Disputanta for 28 years and a farmer. He had chronic Asthma and died from that and Dropsy (stroke) that got worse that last winter. His first 40 years were spent on the farm, then he moved to Disputanta and delivered mail by horse and buggy.

    Lenious was the last Confederate Veteran to die in Surry County.(per Phillip Chappell and family records). He farmed Phillip Chappell's farm. There are 6 or 7 Confederate soldiers of his buried in the family plot (not related). Joined Carsley Methodist Church 1 Oct 1890, Rev. L.M. Williams. He was buried on his farm, where he was also born. He gave the farm to Iola and Logan Emmett Chappell
