    The 1900 census for Waverly show Ellen A. (age 440 as a widow and living in Waverly, VA.

    The Horne and Raines farms were adjacent to each other (1860 census (95 & 96))

    UNABLE TO FIND ALMOST ANY RECORDS ON HIM, ANYWHERE.

    He died before 1900, as his wife was listed as a widow on the 1900 census.

    Ellen Augusta Horne was in Eastern State Hospital in 1910 and listed as a widow. So his death was prior to 1910.

    The Petersburg newspaper in 1874 listed his name as Zachariah Thomas Horne.The marriage was held at the home of Mrs. Cecilia A. Raines, by the Rev. Theo A. Hall. All were listed as being from Sussex County.

    The 1880 Census shows him as a farmer in the Newville area of Sussex County, Virginia. That would put him very close to Waverly and there is a Baptist Church at Newville with an old graveyard. Other Hornes are buried there

    Located a Horne Cemetary at the Newville Methodist Church, Newville, Prince George County, but he wasn't amoung the buried.

    Poss died in Williamsburg Sanitorium and may be buried in a cemetary in Prince George or Petersburg. Searched Petersburg & Prince George records and can find no records. (9/95). Searched Eastern State Hosp Cemetary, nothing found. Searched numerous cemetaries in Sussex and Surry and unable to locate anything. This has been an ongoing search for years.

      The Raines family had $7,000 in Real Estate abd $12,000 in Personal, which made them very wealthy by the standards of those days. The Horne family only had $500 in personal and no real estate dollars entered which probably means they were renting the farm from the Raines, and Wm's son Zack T. married Bart's daughter. They were listed as neighboring families on the census.

      I'm not aware of any old bibles. I got some of the information from a letter from Lula Horne to my mother, some from two letters that my aunt had that were written by Adnie Johnson Horne to Susie Horne(around 1906),some from Greg Werner, and some from visiting the cemetery in Prince George County. I also checked out some Civil War records for John Horne and census records for all.
      Horne's came from England in 1716

      Age showed 35 in the 1850 census and occupation as farmer. Also showed as born in Virginia.

      Did you attend the reunion last year? I wanted to attend but was in Europe at the time.

      The Horne's came from England in 1716

      There are a Robert H. Horne, 34; Henry Horne, 51; Richard Horne all on the 1870 Sussex Census. (may be brothers of Williamson) There is also a Cyrus Horne, 40 on the 1850 Sussex Census and a Jane Horne, born 1815 also on the Sussex census

      Looking for more information on Horn Family from York, PA. John Horn had a son Peter, Peter(Wife Barbara Markel) had a son, Peter(1st wife Mary Bendel and 2nd wife Louisa Laibe or Leib) and family went to Ohio in 1850s and then to Eaton County Michigan by 1860. Charlotte and Olivet, Michigan.
      Any help would be appreciated.
      I have lots of info on family from John on down if anyone wants to know but am looking for info on John.

      Notes:

      There is an Ethelbert L. Raines, 41 yoa in the 1860 census, with a wife Cecia A. age 33 and daughter Ellen A that lived next to Williamson T. Horne in the 1860 census. This is too co-incidental not to be the correct Raines, although it is unknown how John Bart came from Ethelbert L., unless it was a nickname. There is no census info for a John Bart anywhere in Virginia (I would rather be called Bart than Ethelbert). 5/18/2010 Ethelbert confirmed from daughter's marrige records.

      The Raines family had $7,000 in Real Estate abd $12,000 in Personal, which made them very well off by the standards of those days. The Horne family only had $500 in personal and no real estate dollars entered which probably means they were renting the farm from the Raines. Both properties were side by side on the 1850 and 1860 census.

      Died before 1874 as his daughter's wedding was listed as being at the residence of Celcia A. Raines (his wife). Had he been alive it would have listed it at his residence.
