  Married: Some difficult years followed with Sidney left alone with six children ranging in age from 3 to 16 years. Almost two years later he was married to Ruth ELla Rogers, but 18 years old. Her father was William Thomas Rogers and was related to Sidney's mother, who called him "Cousin Tommy." Sidney and Ruth had three children between 1912 and 1919, and by the time these were growing up the others had married and moved away.
