GENERAL NOTES: Name alternatively spelled TOLCARNE. Born at Camborne (Cambrose) in Cornwall but worked mainly in London. In the reign of Henry VIII, the manor of Treheire, in Lanreath parish in Cornwall, was the joint property of Sir Peter Edgcumbe and John Tolcarne. He was a proctor of the Archbishop's Court of the Arches. Ancestry and marriages given in THE VISITATIONS OF CORNWALL 1530, 1578 and 1618, published by the Harlean Society in 1887.
