WILLARD GOODRICH G. Willard Goodrich, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 1995, in his home. He was a native of Surry County and son of the late George Washington and Cornelia Whitmore Goodrich. He served on the board of trustees of Dendron United Methodist Churchland was formerly a member of the Blackwater Sportsman's Club. From 1935 to 1983 he worked for Columbian Peanut Company, Wakefield. He was a partner in Goodrich Truck Line, Wakefield, for many years. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Harris Goodrich; three daughters, Betty G. Thompson of Colonial Heights, Norma Dean Roach of Surry, and Joanie G. Berryman of Elberon; sister, Frances G. McGahee of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; three nephews; and a niece. He was the brother of the late Gracie G. Joyner. Funeral services will be held in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, Monday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Tommy Davidson, the Rev. Don Davidson, and the Rev. Raymond G. Rowland Jr. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Dendron United Methodist Church or the Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad.
