      Biog./Hist. Note      Patrick Henry Drewry was born 24 May 1875 in Southampton County, Virginia, to Emmett Arrington Drewry and Altayera Laughton Booth Drewry. Drewry graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1896 and taught at Centenery College in Missouri before returning to Virginia and attending the University of Virginia Law School from 1897 to 1899. He began practicing law in Petersburg, Virginia, in 1900. In 1911, Drewry won election to the Virginia Senate as Senator for the Petersburg/Dinwiddie County district. Drewry was elected United States Congressman for the Fourth District and held his seat until his death. Drewry died in Petersburg 21 December 1947 and was buried in Blandford
      Cemetery.
