- FREDERICKSBURG - Flossie Jane Bye Hite, 86, died Saturday, June 14, 2014. A native of Sikeston, MO, she was
a longtime Peninsula resident where she retired as a Physical Therapy Assistant from the former Patrick Henry
Nursing Home in Newport News. She loved caring for her family. Preceded in death by her husband, C. Alvin Hite;
her parents, Mary and Howard Bye; and three brothers, John, Richard, and George Archie Bye; she is survived by
her step-son, Monroe Hite and his wife, Pat; her sisters, Betty Rose of Hampton and Ruth Westley of Arizona; her
brother, Joe Bye and his wife, Alma of Newport News; and lots of nieces, nephews, and extended family in Virginia,
California, Arizona, Nevada, and West Virginia. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM Saturday, June 21,
2014 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM conducted by Rev. Dr.
Charles Bang. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity .
