Notes: John and his brother Robert moved from Sussex County, Virginia between1762 -1770 to Mecklenberg County, Virginia and then on to Grandville County, North Carolina. Robert died there and his family moved along with John and his family to Hancock County, Georgia 1770-1785. John died in Hancock County, Georgia.
Will:
I give unto my son John part of the tract of land I now live on beginning at my own outline South of the Meadow to the Deep Bottom and up the bottom to the head line and strike the dividing line between me and Robert Jones about Midway between the road and corner tree, by estimation one hundred and thirty acres, be it more or less, to him and his heirs forever.
