    Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S Army, he was stationed at Camp Hulen, Palacios, Texas, and Camp Barkley, Abilene, Texas. Mr. Clements entered WWII in 1943, serving in N. Africa and the invasion of Italy attached to the 34th Division. The 473rd Separate Infantry Regiment, under which he served, began their campaign in Salermo and Anzio, Italy, and ended the War in Genoa, Italy. It was during this campaign that Mr. Clements received the Infantry Combat Badge, the Bronze Star and was promoted to the rank of Captain.

    Obituary for Morris Warren Clements
    Morris Warren Clements, 92, a native of Prince George County, died on October 31, 2013. He was born in Burrowsville on December 31, 1920, to James William and Susie Warren Clements. After graduating from Disputanta High School, he continued his education receiving a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Class of 1942. Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S Army, he was stationed at Camp Hulen, Palacios, Texas, and Camp Barkley, Abilene, Texas. Mr. Clements entered WWII in 1943, serving in N. Africa and the invasion of Italy attached to the 34th Division. The 473rd Separate Infantry Regiment, under which he served, began their campaign in Salermo and Anzio, Italy, and ended the War in Genoa, Italy. It was during this campaign that Mr. Clements received the Infantry Combat Badge, the Bronze Star and was promoted to the rank of Captain. Returning home from the War, he was employed by Southern States Cooperative as store manager in Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Clements then became Assistant County Extension Agent in Amelia County. In 1949, he assumed the management position for Brandon Plantation in Prince George County, retiring in 1985. Mr. Clements served on the Prince George County Board of Supervisors from 1956 to 1971, was a charter member of the Crater Planning Commission and a member of the Prince George Historical Society. He served as a past Master and Secretary of the Prince George Masonic Lodge and as a Director of the John Rolfe Branch APVA. He was a charter member of the Burrowsville Ruritan Club and a member of Martin's Brandon Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Francis Blythe Clements. He is survived by his children, James W. Clements II, Sandra Clements Pauley and husband Richard, Warren B. Clements and wife Wendy, S. Brandon Clements and wife Lila; daughter-in-law, Courtney W. Clements; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank his friends at Lakewood Manor, Henrico, Virginia, where he was a resident since 2004. Among them, Mrs. Elizabeth See; and the staff and caregivers for their faithful care and support. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service with a Masonic service to be held at 5pm. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Martin's Brandon Episcopal Church 18705 James River Drive Disputanta 23842 followed by interment in the church cemetery.     Daisy Clements Goodrich, 89, of Surry County, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. She was the daughter of the late James Henry and Laura Avery Clements and the widow of Lois D. Goodrich.
    She is survived by her daughters, Wanda G. Temple (George) of Prince George and Gloria G. Johnson of Providence Forge; a brother, J. Edward Clements; grandchildren, Gloria Rowe, Jeff Temple (Marissa), Taylor Johnson, Emory Johnson; and a great grandchild, Laura Rowe.
    A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 3PM at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield and will be officiated by Rev. Macon Walton. Burial will follow at the Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral prior to the service from 1:30 to 3PM.     DENDRON - Juliette Clements Cofer, 91, of Dendron, departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010.
    She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother known for her love of family, her caring nature, her hospitality, her immaculate yard and her pound cake. She was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Prince George County to the late Waverly Tolman and Estelle Avery Clements. In 1939, she married the late Wilson Cofer and moved to Dendron where she lived until her death. She was a member of Dendron United Methodist Church, John Rolfe Chapter of the APVA and Surry Garden Club.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Merle Clements and John Waverly Clements; and her sister, Genevieve Clements Guza.
    She is survived by her children, Woody Cofer and wife, Helen of Powhatan and Linda Cofer Thompson and husband, Alan of Dendron; grandchildren, Chad Thompson, Serena Cofer Talley and husband, Tray, Christy Thompson Dalton and husband, Micah; and a stepgrandson, Richard Utley and wife, Meredith; great-grandchildren, Stone Talley and Aghavni Dalton; and step-great-grandchildren, Gavin and Tucker Utley. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Barbara Clements; a brother-in-law, Joe Guza and numerous nieces and nephews.
    The family would like to thank her faithful caregivers Polly, Elaine, Alice and Yvonne and Hospice of Virginia for their loving care.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield at 11414 General Mahone Hwy. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Dendron United Methodist Church at 2912 Rolfe Hwy.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dendron United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 163, Dendron, VA 23839.
