    ACTIVITY DURING WWII STAFF SERGEANT. STATIONED AT SALTBY AIR BASE IN SALTBY, ENGLAND. WORKED IN THE TOWER. HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR CHARTING ALL OUTGOING PLANES, EVERYONE WHO WAS ON THE PLANE, TIME OUT AND IN. THERE WERE FOUR SQUADRONS STATIONED AT SALTBY BASE WITH 30 PLANES PER SQUADRON. HE WAS ALSO STATIONED AT THE VILLA GUPLA AIR BASE IN FRANCE, WHERE HE WAS IN CHARGE OF MAINTENANCE OF THE TELEPHONE LINES. HAD A WIRE CHIEF RATING.
