My name is O. Lee Gwaltney, III. I am the son of Orville Lee Gwaltney Jr and Carolyn Gwaltney, grandson of Edith "Tilly" Louise Goodrich and Orville Gwaltney. I was so happy to find your Web site. I thought you might be interested in some additional family information I can give you regarding my mother's side of the family. Before I get to that, however, I just wanted to tell you how much it means to have your site around and I hope it stays up for a very long time. I called my dad tonight after I found it and he is going to check it out this weekend. He will likely write you in the near future to give you more information about his father's side of the family as currently you have Orville Lee Gwaltney Sr's parents listed as "unknown". Also, I described Snow Hill to Dad and he said that is very near to where my great aunt Gene Johnson ( Edith "Tilly Louise Goodrich's sister) and her husband Shirley Johnson live. We are no planning to journey there sometime in the next couple of months to see where our family once lived. We also are planning on attending a family reunion in Richmond, VA attended by at least eight different families this Saturday. Not sure if you will be there but I would love to meet you and your family if you are. |
