I could not leave the computer tonight without sharing this family tree. It is a descendant tree for your Ervin Barnes mother... Elenora Strunk. Elenora was the daughter of Jacob and Catherine Strunk. Now, Jacob and Elenora had many children. One the Elenora's sisters was named Sarah and she married Rudolph Shiffer. One of Rudolph Shiffer's grandsons.. J. Rudolph Shiffer settled in Surry County ( I think perhaps he went to visit his aunt and uncle Elisha and Elenore Barnes one day and decided to stay!!!) He married Ethel Mae Barnes, Ervin's daughter. They are buried in Claremont cemetery. So... Two of Jacob and Catherine Strunk's daughters have direct ties to your Barnes line..

Now to confuse things even more... my husband, Barry, has two connects in this group as well.. Of course, John Royal Barnes is his great grandfather. John's mother was Elenor Strunk.. AND Barry's grandmother, Edna Mae Barnes married non other than... Frank McClellan STRUNK. Frank was the son of Benjamin Strunk who was Elenor's brother. (remember, there will be a test on all this next week. It took me a few years and a bottle of aspirin to fingure all this out) |
